LOCALACT bills each location once a month for the previous month's actual media spend plus any applicable fees. If you spend less than your budget, you are charged only for what you spent.
When and how you are charged
Invoices are created during the first or second week of each month and charged to each location's Default payment method. Credit card payments are approved or declined right away. Bank account (ACH) payments take several business days to settle, and the invoice shows Processing until your bank confirms the payment.
Credit card surcharge
Credit card payments may include a surcharge of up to 3%, which is not greater than our cost of acceptance. The surcharge appears as its own line, separate from your invoice amount. There is no surcharge on bank account (ACH) payments. Canadian customers are not surcharged on credit cards, but may incur ACH fees.
Viewing your invoices
In LOCALACT, open Account > Invoices to see every invoice and the services it covers. Each invoice shows one of these statuses:
- Open: created but not charged yet.
- Processing: paid by bank account and waiting on your bank.
- Paid: the payment went through.
- Failed: the payment did not go through, or your bank returned it.
- Voided: cancelled.
If a payment fails
Card payments that fail are retried automatically over about two weeks, and after several attempts the invoice moves to the location's Backup payment method. To resolve it right away, set a working payment method as the location's Default in Account > Payment Methods, and the failed invoice is charged again immediately. See Adding and Managing Payment Methods for the steps.
